Jabber for iPhone six – version Ten.Five on iOS eight – a number of questions/still no responses
Many of us are asking whether the functionality is there to use Jabber to make calls with the error "Failed to Get Device Configuration" and/or a Unified Communication error.
Can someone please advise (a) if the functionality is NOW there to use Jabber and the iphone six and if so then (b) please list the steps in order to make it happen.

Hi pamela.young1, Without

I have an iPhone six with iOS 8
I have an iPhone six with iOS 8.
I have Cisco Jabber Ten.6 installed.
When I click on "Keypad" the error "Failed to get device configuration" comes up.
Please provide the EXACT STEPS I need to take in order to get Jabber to work as a phone.
Please do NOT refer me again to a PDF. It’s not clear what steps from that document.

Your post says version Ten.Five,
Your post says version Ten.Five, not Ten.6.
Then I’m not sure what you want, the documentation that everyone has used to configure Jabber, is in here:
ALL the steps you would need to configure it, are outlined there, if you have followed and are 100% sure the config is as it should, then you need to budge on and look at what’s in inbetween the servers and your phone to make sure nothing is preventing the communication. You can look at the PRT for further troubleshooting.

I meant Ten.6. All I have
I meant Ten.6. All I have done is turned on my VPN and attempted to connect. The documentation is not clear from a user perspective. Our IT department said this is a Cisco problem. I need to know what steps need to be taken by whom. Please do not again reiterate to read the PDF this way expecting me to be a technical genius to figure it out.

OK, let’s clarify something,
OK, let’s clarify something, this forum is for Voice admins, not end users, your IT department should have configured it all so that you only had to type in your username and pwd, that’s it.
THEY should have also provided you with end user guides
Brief reaction, all YOU as an end user have to do, is to type in your username and pwd. The rest, is your IT guys responsibility.
It’s THEIR responsibility as well to troubleshoot this, they cannot simply direct you to a Cisco forum and expect an end user to fix this.
I suggest you go back and ask your IT department for assistance with this.
