Facebook Messenger Just Added Four Fresh Features for Movie Talks
Facebook Messenger ushered in the fresh week by announcing four fresh features Monday morning.
Emojis can now be added to movie conversations, permitting participants to express love, laughter, surprise, sadness or anger.
Messenger users can now add filters “ranging from subtle lighting tweaks to bold color changes—like black and white, crimson, or yellow.”
Fresh masks have been added to Messenger, and some of them include hidden effects and react to mitt and facial movements.
And Messenger users can now take screenshots of their movie talks to share with other friends who were not part of the talk.
Facebook vice president of messaging products David Marcus also posted about the fresh features (embedded below):
Messenger’s movie talk capability is one of the areas I’m the proudest about in terms of quality across devices and overall practice. And people are using it more and more every day across the world. This is why I’m thrilled to embark rolling out four fresh improvements to one-on-one and group movie talks embarking today:
- Reactions: Tapping on the right emoji at the right time will amplify emotions you want to convey in real time.
- Filters: Switching to black and white and many more will add a layer of joy and expressiveness to your talks.
- Fresh masks: Masks make moments in movie truly special because you can witness the reaction of other participants in real time, so we’ve added fresh ones for you to have even more joy.
- Capture: We’ve heard from many of you that you love capturing movie talk moments, especially since we launched masks. Now with fresh ones, Reactions and filters, there will be a lot more to capture, share and save, so we’ve made this indeed effortless and native. We think you’re going to love this fresh capability.
