SNAPCHAT ACQUIRES BITSTRIPS
Snapchat spent $100 million to acquire Bitstrips – the makers of the personalized avatar stickers.
Last year, Bitstrips added a feature that let users place their avatars on existing pics.
This is similar to how emoji can be overlaid onto people’s ‘snaps’ on Snapchat, which may explain the acquisition.
Other sources say personalized emojis will make Snapchat more attractive to advertisers, reports CTVNews.ca.
Andy Walker, senior strategist at Cyberwalker.com, explained that Bitstrips has taken off in popularity because of the capability to ‘create a little icon of yourself with your hair type and your nose and … inject it with a smiling face or a sad face … and then share that with your friends.’
Tap the photo icon, which will open up the roll where you can choose pictures or movies to share with your friends while talking through text or movie.
Just like regular text messaging, you can also send numerous photos at once and add your own flair to them with text, drawings and filters.

‘What we love most about the fresh Talk is how lightly you can transition inbetween all these ways of communicating — just like you do in person,’ states the hard.
‘When that’s possible, you aren’t texting, calling, or movie chatting… you’re just talking. We’ve been working on this redesign for a while — we can’t wait to hear what you think!’
Snapchat is also introducing Auto-Advance Stories, which permits users to catch up with friends.

Via 2015, the app was among the top thirteen US apps downloaded overall and even placed among the top three most downloaded photo and movie app, reports Mediakix.
This past January, Snapchat reported seven billion mobile views each day from one hundred million daily users, compared to Facebook’s eight million views and 1.55 billion users.
While the Talk Two.0 is a major step forward for Snapchat, other platforms have been way ahead of the game with adding features to their messaging users.
Facebook created a separate app designed with movie calling, stickers and GIFS.
And WhatsApp has long let users share pictures, choose inbetween movie and text talk, but the most latest update lets you share documents with other users.
