[LINE] How to transfer talk history from iPhone to Android/Android to iPhone
Hello. This is Shiho.
Today’s topic is “[LINE] How to transfer talk history when you switch your mobile model from iPhone to Android, or from Android to iPhone”
You cannot restore your LINE talk history inbetween iOS and Android without transferring the data because they use different OSs.
Therefore, methods to save your talk history will be saving as a text file on your old mobile, or sending the text file on Email, or saving on something like “Evernote”, etc.
Link talk history as a text file
I am going to take an example for Android version of LINE.
Open the talk room which you want to save
Tap “V” icon, and tap “Chat Settings”
Tap “Backup Talk History”
Tap “Backup as a Text File”
You will be proceeded to a page where you can create an Email.
The talk history has already been linked as a text file.
Inject an Email address where you want to send the text file to, and send it (or simply save draft).
Saving talk history will be finished.
3-2. Save a talk history as a text file on “Evernote”
Saving on something like an app called “Evernote” will be also useful.
Here, I am also going to take an example for Android version of LINE.
Open the talk room which you want to save
Tap “V” icon, and tap “Chat Settings”
Tap “Backup Talk History”
Tap “Backup as a Text File”
And then, let’s select “Add to Evernote”
The talk history will be linked as a text file and saved on “Evernote”.
Tap “More” icon and tap “View” to view the contents.
You will be using a text viewer to see the talk history. (I am using “DB Text Editor” this time)
This is how you can save a talk history as a text file.
You cannot see or save any stickers or photos.
Refer to the following feature for more details.
Backup significant talks using “Keep”
This method does not suit those who want to save all the talk history.
However, you can backup and save selected talks for you using “Keep” function.
Merit of “Keep” is that you can have a look at the data you have done “Keep” soon after your mobile model switch.
Furthermore, the setting process is pretty effortless.
However, the demerits are you can only save as a text file and the contents do not showcase you the senders’ names of the talks on default settings.
Simply tap and select a message which you want to save
You can tick and select numerous messages at once.
You can check the saved messages on LINE on your fresh mobile.
Open your own profile page from “Friends” list to open its pop-ups
The messages are saved like below.
You can edit the messages, so adding the names of senders might help you to review afterwards.
