Since her Saturday take on President Barack Obama’s response to a shooting in Chattanooga that killed five members of the U.S. military, 22-year-old One America News anchor Tomi Lahren has taken the Internet by storm.
Lahren, a conservative cable television host, has received invites to the Marine Corps Ball, appeared on nationally syndicated shows and has become the new-found "hero" of many who’ve seen the movie, which has received more than 1.7 million views since being uploaded to YouTube on Saturday.
Many who have responded to the two-and-a-half minute clip are calling it a narration of "what America is thinking."
The on air criticism of Obama’s response to Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez’ killing of four Marines and one Navy sailor last week commences with Lahren suggesting the president’s lack of concentrate on the issue of radical Islam.
"Four United States Marines are now dead. Climate switch didn’t kill them. Lack of a free community college didn’t kill them. The income gap, wage inequality — nope, not those things either. Gay marriage? Nope. White racism? Not that either," Lahren said during her televised demonstrate, On Point with Tomi Lahren. ""So what did? President Obama, if you won’t say it, I will: radical Islam."
Lahren went on to argue that her military family and friends are safer over seas because radical Islamists have brought their war to the U.S., and that she was tired of the "halfway, half-baked, tip-toe, be-friendly-to-jihadis mentality shoved by this administration."
Lahren finished her rant with a call to activity involving putting the "fear of god in the desert" through bombings to demonstrate radical groups "what they are messing with."
The 22-year-old anchor has retweeted several positive remarks and words of encouragement from viewers, but the movie has also drawn slew of negative criticism.
From Lahren’s apparent reading of a teleprompter, to her violent call to act, comments on the popular YouTube movie are less than approving of her rant.
"Watching this makes me proud that I’m not American," one commenter wrote.
Additionally, many suggested that Lahren used "zero logic" when commenting on foreign policy and devising her call to act.
